Birds On Time by Mario Moreno
A couple of Egyptian Geese (Alopochen aegyptiacus) in Lake Panic in Kruger at sunrise. I was shooting hippo silhouettes in the distance when these to birds appeared in my viewfinder. They made a perfect image silhouetted against the sunrise steam in the background. This is a member of the duck, goose and swan family Anatidae. Egyptian geese were considered sacred by the ancient Egyptians, and appeared in much of their artwork.
The Egyptian Goose is one of the species to which the Agreement on the Conservation of African-Eurasian Migratory Waterbirds (AEWA) applies.
