Lunch Tree Hill View by Jeff Clow
© Jeff R. Clow This was the view that John D. Rockefeller, Jr. and his family saw when Horace Albright pitched the idea that only a wealthy man could save the Jackson Hole valley from being overrun by commercial interests. They were having a picnic lunch at this overlook. Not too long afterward, Rockefeller wired Mr. Albright - then the Superintendent of Yellowstone National Park to the north - three simple words: "Buy it All" Most - if not all - conservationists will tell you the only reason Grand Teton National Park exists as it is today is because of that lunch, and this view.
