Turtle Eye. by FaceChoo Yong
Most turtles that spend most of their lives on land have their eyes looking down at objects in front of them.Turtles are thought to have exceptional night vision due to the unusually large number of rod cells in their retinas.Turtle have color vision with a wealth of cone subtypes with sensitivities ranging from the near ultraviolet (UV A) to red.

Exmouth WA by Paul Emmings
Exmouth WA by Paul Emmings
This bridge was built in Exmouth West Australia ,following the extensive damage caused by Cyclone Vance on the 22nd March 1999 . 70 % of buildings in the town were damaged , and Lucy Emmings was trapped at the time in the evacuation center. We came to Exmouth on our trip so Lucy could see the town again , and guess what we got trapped there for a week as Tropical Cyclone Rusty hit 400 k up the road.

Atlas Burdened No More by Ashley Vincent
Atlas Burdened No More by Ashley Vincent
Many thanks for your expressions of appreciation on “A Furtive Gaze”, for which I'm very grateful! The title of this one is a bit of a poignant play on words between Atlas, the Titan of Greek mythology condemned to burden the weight of the sky on his shoulders at the western edge of the earth, and the Atlas Mountain range of Northern African, which once supported the largest of Africa’s felines, the Barbary Lion (aka the Atlas Lion), a sub-specie of lion now regrettably extinct in the wild. The Barbary Lion is not the only animal to have become extinct (EX) along the Atlas Mountain range, so too has the Atlas Bear(none in captivity either), the North African Elephant, and the African Aurochs - a type of large wild cattle. In addition to which, the Barbary Macaque and Cuvier's Gazelle are endangered (EN), while the Barbary Leopard and the Northern Bald Ibis are critically endangered (CR). I was able to observe and photograph this dashingly handsome male Barbary Lion on one of three very enjoyable days out I recently had with my good friend and fellow wildlife photographer Sue Demetriou at Port Lympne Wildlife Park (Kent, UK) - many thanks again Sue :^) Thanks for your time and attention and wishing you a wonderful week ahead! Heaven's henge by Nagesh Mahadev
The Milky Way made an impressive backdrop to the full sized, astronomically aligned Stonehenge replica. The stonehenge was lit by the moon rising at the horizon from the left.
